GoalsCan gives all kids, 13 and over,
a simple accessible tool for building real self-regulation strategies.

Everyone needs to work on developing positive social and emotional strategies. Behavior intervention programs often offer
only external rewards, or point systems, to encourage expected social strategies.

Sincere positive social attitudes are adopted through a fundamental desire to learn about ourselves and each other.

GoalsCan is designed to encourage flexible thinking about goals as part
of self-monitoring success.

About GoalsCan Research

Mobile learning supports choice and allows people to recognize their own goals and tasks. Current mental health research reports the effective use of mobile technologies to support adolescent social-emotional development in their daily lives. Advocates for mHealth for young people promote interactive programs that engage self-regulation strategies and encourage internal motivation alongside supportive feedback from their family, friends and doctors. Predictive intervention objectives in mHealth do not always show positive results. Current research defines the design of the web-application prototype, GoalsCan for All Kids, based on self-regulation learning models. A systematic review of mHealth serving kids resulted in a simple design, development and implementation strategy. Self-regulation models will continue to inform effective mobile designs for new health promotions long-term.
